Our Mission

We aim to simplify the process of building and maintaining bicycles by providing a database of parts, compatibility information, and price comparisons. Whether you're a road racer, mountain biker, or commuter, we help you get the best gear for your budget.

How It Works

We currently compare offers from a small but growing group of UK and US retailers, to show you where parts are in stock and who has the best price. Every retailer we track is named on our affiliate disclosure page, including the ones we earn nothing from. Prices are refreshed on a schedule rather than fetched live, so always confirm the final figure on the retailer’s own checkout page.

What You Can Do

Start by browsing our catalogue of frames, drivetrains, wheels, brakes, and finishing kit, then drop parts into a build to see the full picture. As you add components, we continuously re-check the build against modern mechanical standards so you know whether a part will actually fit before you spend any money.

Once your build takes shape, we line up the offers we hold from the retailers we track so you can compare prices side by side, spot the cheapest in-stock option, and avoid paying over the odds. Every build can be saved and revisited, so you can plan an upgrade over weeks rather than rushing a single checkout.

Compatibility, Checked Properly

Mixing components across groupsets and generations is where most build mistakes happen. Our compatibility engine looks at the details that matter (drivetrain speeds, freehub body, hub and axle standards, brake type, mount type, and chainline), so you do not end up with a cassette that will not seat, a derailleur that cannot reach, or brakes that do not match your levers.

It only tells you what it can actually check. Where a part in our catalogue is missing the specification a pairing depends on, we leave that pairing out rather than assume it fits, so our compatibility lists are deliberately incomplete rather than speculative. None of it replaces the manufacturer’s own compatibility documentation; check that before you buy.

We are cyclists ourselves, and we built BikePartPicker because we were tired of cross- referencing spec sheets and forum threads to answer a simple question: will these parts work together? The tools are free to use, no account required, and we are constantly expanding the catalogue and the rules behind it.
